The JEEP has a 5-gallon water tank built into the rear bumper, and a 10 gallon fuel tank fitted inside the hollow of the spare tire. Sounds like a great outing for me JEEP and my dog, a 130 pound Great Dane. I'll decide for myself, but I enjoy remote areas where few can follow. Well, I'm a retired soldier and desert rat. Others have gone to this grid, and most have said "Never Again". Provided of course that the JEEP passes its trials and can make it into this remote area. If that works out well, perhaps I'll try PSK-31 too. I'll be QRP, and will likely try FT8 simply because of its weak signal and QRP capability. While down there I'll try to activate DL88. DL88 is 13,533 square miles (21,780 km/sq) and the portion of DL88 in the USA is only 19.4 square miles ( 31.26 km/sq). If you have a good enough vehicle, there is a point in Big Bend National Park where only 19 square miles of grid DL88 can be reached without crossing into Mexico. After phase 3, my shake-down outing will be into the Big Bend region SE of my home. Phase two (3 inch suspension lift) is completed. We have the ARRL GRID CHASE beginning this evening.
